Clot retrieval

Aims:

· Before recanalisation: SBP 140-180 (perfuse the penumbra), DBP <110 (avoid bleeding)

· After recanalisation: SBP 120-140

· SpO2 >92% (don’t want hypoxia or hyperoxia)

· PaCO2 officially 35-45mmHg but should probably high/normal (don’t want cerebral vasoconstriction)

Sedation is preferred, but requires:

· Conscious state ok (beware posterior circulation stroke)

· Airway ok

· Can lie flat

· Can co-operate
