PS19 2020: Monitored care

Why another monitoring statement?

· Many procedures performed with no anaesthetic, or local, or minimal sedation

· Many procedures require IV injection or allergenic agents e.g. contrast

· Proceduralist may want an anaesthetist present

Usual recommendations apply for the following:

· Facilities and staffing

· Pre-anaes consult

· Sedation

· Monitoring

· Recovery

· Documentation
